By: Marie E. Moody

The Joovy Big Caboose Tandem Sit and Stand Double Stroller sure can make life simple for the mom with double trouble, meaning twins and an extra sibling. I mean let’s say you’re taking all three children to the park, and your third little toddler says, “Mommy, up!” Well, not to worry because this stroller has just the spot for this little guy. This Big Caboose is not only easy to use, but it includes two full size seats with the canopies to hide your children from the sun’s harmful rays, and two child trays, and two foot rests. Your third child, however, can stand in the rear or if he/she gets tired they can turn around and rest on the padded rear jump seat. This stroller also give that child stuck in the middle plenty room too. Okay, I’m impressed.

This stroller also includes two universal car seat attachments that accommodate most of the major brands of car seats if you will, and the Big Caboose has a huge storage basket below and sealed bearing wheels to help you push heavy loads, and with three children on board, and a diaper bag they tend to get a bit heavy. If you need that triple option then out of all the reviews I’ve read this is definitely a wise choice for a sufficient comfortable stroller.

PROS:

Comfortable two-position front seats

Accommodates children from 6 months to 40 lbs.

Deluxe rip stop nylon fabric

Deluxe harnesses include reflective stitching for night-time safety

Two removable canopies with ratcheting adjustment

Deluxe rip stop nylon fabric

Removable Child Trays and Universal Car Seat Adapters

Adjustable padded rear seat allows standing child to take a rest

Foam covered handles for child to hold onto while he stands

3-point harness on rear bench seat

Patented rear platform allows child that is at least 2-1/2 years old to stand

Foam covered handles for both parents and rear standing child

Large storage basket under seat with elastic sides for easy access

By Kristina J. Petrella

Anyone who has used a full size double stroller knows the hassle of trying to manhandle it into a small trunk. However, if one has a child in an infant carrier as well as an older child, is there even an alternative to a full-size stroller? Thanks to the Peg-Perego Aria Twin 60/40, there is. Instead of being an even 50/50 split down the middle, the Peg-Pereg0 Aria Twin 60/40 allows for an infant seat in one side of the stroller while still giving ample fidgeting and riding room to an accompanying toddler. The infant seat can be a Peg-Perego, but other models can be used as well. This stroller, when folded is thin enough to fit either on top of other luggage or underneath. One thing I want to point out is that everything must be perfectly aligned for this stroller to open or fold and you most definitely need two hands to fold and un-fold this model. There is no chance you will get away with a one-handed fold.

I had no trouble maneuvering this stroller at all. Truthfully, I took it everywhere. My husband hated this stroller and said that it was finicky and persnickety, but I also say that my husband has no patience when it comes to fiddling with strollers to get them to open or close. My only complaints about this stroller are related to the recline cords in the rear. It was quite hard for me to recline the seats or readjust them to the sitting position. I liked the fabric that the stroller seats were made out of as well because it seemed to wipe clean easily.

All in all, this is a good stroller, especially for being able to use it with both an infant seat and a toddler. It was more maneuverable and versatile than a full size and also left enough room in my trunk for other things! Yay!

Pros:

Can accommodate both an infant carrier and toddler side by side

large sun canopy

various reclining positions

Cons:

2 handed fold

can be a bit tricky to fold at times

the basket is hard to access

Moody

The Foundations Duo SS Double Stroller has a side-by-side design for twins, but two siblings can also share that side-by-side bonding. At 33″ wide in the open position the stroller will fit through standard doorways. At StrollerReview.net you may find another review of similar origin, but I’m taking a different stance on this one due to a recent vacation I went on at Busch Gardens in Virginia.

I could not believe how many double strollers I had seen, but the most interesting thing is that the park itself rented Double Strollers. When we first walked in there had to be at least 50 of them if not more, and maybe 20 single strollers. I asked how come the change; you know, the big difference, and the service clerk told me that the park had decided that people are more apt to get the double stroller if only to carry their things, but mainly because their toddlers all the way up to age 10 get mighty tired after a while, and even the parents of these young children were renting them then to put up with a cranky child.

The Double Stroller is definitely in fashion and stroller reviews .net knows it. This is why we’re informing you of the Foundations Duo-SS Double Stroller because they’re not just for twins anymore, but they have many uses. Going on picnics, the beach, shopping, and another thing that goes with that is a good break system. All Foundations strollers feature an innovative braking systems. The SafeBrake system engages when the you release the handle eliminating risk of a runaway stroller, and an additional foot activated brake secures the stroller when parked. This is totally cool, and at Busch Gardens their terrain is very hilly, and these type of brakes are so needed.

Unfortunately, I found very few customer reviews on the Duo Double Side-by-Side Stroller by Foundations, and so I am using my knowledge of the brand and the few comments I did find to give you an idea about this stroller.

The Duo SS is a great quality stroller. Your kids will sit side by side and each have an unobstructed view of their surroundings. Due to its wide design, the Duo-SS is best used for outdoor activities, like a walk in the park or a day at the zoo; it would be much too difficult to maneuver through doorways or in between grocery store displays. (If you would rather have a double stroller better for indoor activities, try the Duo Double Tandem Foundations Stroller.) While outdoors, with the sun shining, the seat canopies might not be very helpful, they are quite small. A larger sun cover is highly recommended to keep the sun out of your little ones’ eyes.

The Duo SS is equipped with the SafeBrake system, which is unique to Foundations strollers. It is a bar that you hold down on the handle as you push, and when released, the brakes are activated. It is a great system, although some have found it hard to hold down the brake and push at the same time. Removing the brake, or using Velcro straps to hold down the bar, and just using the parking foot brake was recommended by more than one parent.

The eight wheels are made of rubberized foam, and the front wheels swivel or lock for ease of steering. The basket is wide, and when both seats are up, very easily accessible. The three point harnesses keep your little ones safe, and the down-to-55° seat reclines make for a few comfy naps. And finally, the stroller is very easy to clean!

So that is all for the Foundations Duo SS! And if you do buy the stroller, please write an in-depth customer review on it for my future reference!

If you have plans for long neighborhood walks or a big week long trip to Disney, the Graco Twin IPO stroller is definitely worth a peek. Graco stroller reviews say that with enough room for two children up to 50 lbs each and a fold that is nearly flat, parents love this stroller.

Features:
• - Stroller holds two children up to 50 lbs.
• - Folds down with one hand for compact storage
• - Convenient carry handle
• - 2 padded, multi-position reclining seats
• - Adjustable canopies over each seat
• - Lockable front swivel wheels with suspension
• - Large basket for easy storage and removal
• - Adjustable leg rests on each seat
• - Convertible 3 or 5 point harnesses
• - Padded, ergonomic hand grip for parents’ comfort
• - Seat pads are machine washable in cold water on delicate cycle; line dry
• - 1 Year Limited Warranty
The functionality of this stroller (especially considering the price) is really hard to beat. Whether you have both an infant and a four-year old or twin 18-month old toddlers this stroller rolls easily giving a smooth ride for your little ones. One mother of two children with a combined weight of 95 lbs claims she would never know how heavy her children are just by pushing this stroller because of how easily it glides. The seats recline to a nearly flat position that even infants can sleep in comfortably. There is a basket underneath for a diaper bag and other essentials. Reviewers say that this double stroller stroller is easy to fold/unfold and includes a carry handle on the side that makes it easy to load onto a bus or subway easily.

I could find only two negatives to this stroller worth mentioning. Number one is the locks on the front wheels. They stick out and if you bump into something it can lock your wheel making it hard to push. It isn’t a huge deal, but stopping because your toddler has knocked the wheel with her foot and caused it to lock again could be a little frustrating. Many reviewers biggest complaint is with the canopy. It is quite flimsy and provides little shade from the sun. There are large sun shades that are universal to fit most strollers though so if this is a problem for you, you may want to check them out. One small complaint was that there is no parent tray or compartment organizer for wallets and keys. Again, these can be purchased separately so it shouldn’t discourage you from this stroller if it seems to be a good fit for you.

Overall this stroller is a great buy—especially for the price. Many reviewers compared it with the Maclaren twin strollers and claim that this one is just as nice, although much easier on the wallet.

Once I went on a hayride at a festival and had to leave my $700 stroller in an unattended field for half an hour. I could hardly enjoy the experience because I was worried that it wouldn’t be there when I returned. No one wants to leave an expensive stroller unattended, but sometimes it is unavoidable. Even if you are leaving it briefly to play at the park or museum it is difficult to keep watch over both your children, and your stroller. With BuddyGuard Stroller Locks you can face these types of situation knowing that your stroller will be there waiting for you just where you left it.

This adorable stroller lock allows you to lock your stroller to a nearby stationary object. If an object is unavailable you can thread it through the frame and both wheels to “lock” it to itself. You could even use it to lock your diaper bag to the stroller at the park. The cable is made of vinyl coated 2.4mm aircraft grade stainless steel. The thinness of the cable makes it lightweight (2 pounds), and easy to thread between wheel spokes. Yet, you can still relax knowing that a thief would not be able to easily remove the steel cable.

BuddyGuard has great features that make it very easy to use. It has an automatic retract button for quick getaways. Also, it has a universal stroller clip that attaches to your stroller. I love this feature, because you’ll never find yourself wishing you threw it in your diaper bag. The lock is opened by a three-digit code so there are no keys to lose. You can change it to something meaningful to you so there is no forgetting your combination.

At more than four feet long it will do the job for single strollers. However, if you had a large side-by-side double stroller you probably couldn’t get it around both wheels and part of the frame. For less than $20 you could afford to buy two. Especially considering that it is probably a small percentage of what you paid for your stroller.

Having two small children two years apart I needed something they could ride in comfortably, and was affordable on our 1 income family. Last summer I purchased the Graco Quattro Tour Duo Ionic Double Stroller. Stroller reviews I read raved about wonderful features and a stylish look. I love the the tandem riding, two separate shades for each seat, and 3 point safety harness switchable to a lap belt for my older child.

My oldest rides in front. He’s almost 4 and loves being able to jump in an out. He has is own drink/snack holder which can be switched out for a bar to lock in a *carseat, and a secret pouch under his seat to store his cars and trains. The seat reclines half way back with a separate canopy to cover him from the sun. The rear seat has a snack/drink holders, and reclines flat. There is an extra large multi-position canopy to cover the rear seat w/ peek a boo flap and mesh windows.

Graco Tour Duo Double Stroller has a large basket underneath, and Ergonomic handles for multi hand positioning allowing for excellent maneuverability; even 1 handed. There are 2 parent cup holders and a zippered snap on pouch. Front wheel shocks and separate locking breaks are also great features.

I found that many stroller reviews complained about the weight for pushing and lifting, and the bulkiness, so get your muscles ready! You’ll get in stronger shape with pushing and lifting so you’ll look good too. ;) Folds with one hand and has a large latch to keep it compactly closed.

Mountain Buggy is a strong thriving company that is constantly working to improve on customer experience. You see strollers make great gifts for (new) parents - but with so many models, features, and colors to pick from, it can be nerve-racking to choose which one to give, so personally I suggest gift certificates so you can let the parents choose the one they like. Mountain Buggy Accessories has a long list indeed.
Mountain Buggy is a strong thriving company that is constantly working to improve on customer experience. You see strollers make great gifts for (new) parents – but with so many models, features, and colors to pick from, it can be nerve-racking to choose which one to give, so personally I suggest gift certificates so you can let the parents choose the one they like. Mountain Buggy Accessories has a long list indeed. It’s easy to convert a Mountain Buggy baby stroller into a pram with a carrycot. One imperative accessory, which is almost a necessity is a sun-hood shade for the baby. Also, Mountain Buggy has a storm cover that comes with it for extra protection from wind and rain. On a double stroller you can use two small double carrycots or one large twin carrycot that fits two babies in case we have twins to contend with. The triple stroller holds one large twin sized carrycot, and one small double carrycot. Mountain Buggy Strollers are made in New Zealand for more than 15 years and have won numerous design awards, which means so much to new parents at times.

One of the many Mountain Buggy stroller accessories that they carry is the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle Sun Cover, which protects our baby from bugs and sun with 81% UV filtering. It’s custom fit so you don’t have to fight with it or have overlapping material that really looks sloppy and hazardous. It’s strong. but lightweight mesh material. Easy to attach and easy to access child with zip opening. Back in the day, I would have to lift this HUGE netting, and fight with it to get under to give the baby back her pacifier or something quick where you wouldn’t need to take off the netting. Also, the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle Sun Cover folds into small bag to fit in storage tray. Ah, convenience!

The biggest thing I like about Mountain Buggy is if you find a lower price ANYWHERE for any of their products be it accessories, strollers, and the like on their site, they will match that price! Now, what more can you ask for!

A Mom of two shouldn’t be left out of all the outdoorsy fun! Schwinn designed their Free Wheeler AL Double-Stroller so that a Mom (or Dad) can have twice the fun while enjoying fresh air on the trail, paved path, or while maneuvering through a crowded carnival!

The front wheel on the Free Wheeler AL Double Stroller gives the parent the option of locking for serious running or letting it swivel for trails, walking, or crowds. Even owners of high-end single joggers are happy they went with the less pricey Schwinn when upgrading to a double-seat stroller because of the smooth ride and one finger turn-on-a-dime feature. The designer of this stroller must have been a parent themselves because the divider between the two seats is genius. Not only does it help to give each child their own room so they are not bumping into each other during the jog, but also keeps the “Mom, he’s elbowing me!” and “Mom, she won’t stop looking at me!” to a bare minimum so you can zone out and enjoy a good run. This stroller has a parent organizer included with a zippered compartment for keys, phone, etc. A rain cover is also included and is built right into the stroller; accessed easily by a zipper on the canopy. The canopy itself is large—it can cover both children entirely (minus their little toes) even when walking into full sun.

The seat on the Schwinn Free Wheeler AL Double Stroller can be a plus or minus depending on your preferences. Like most jogging strollers, it doesn’t have a firm back; the fabric sort of snuggles in the child like you would see on an umbrella stroller. This makes most parents feel their child is more secure, but it can be a negative if you want your child to be able to sit fully upright. Unfortunately Schwinn has redesigned the 5-point harness in recent years so it is no longer cushioned like it was before. Also, one reviewer claimed that the metal crossbar on the back of the stroller hit right at their two-year-old’s head so they felt it would be too uncomfortable for him and sent it back. Another reviewer says they just cushioned the back of their son’s head with a receiving blanket and it has been completely comfortable for their child. It sounds easily remedied with a pillow or cushion, but still something to think about. One last negative is that there is a parking brake, but no handbrake. If jogging downhill this can be a problem so be sure to wear your safety wrist-strap.

I know you’re asking, “But does it fit through doorways?” The answer is YES! Although it may look large at first the Schwinn Free Wheeler AL Double will fit through doorways making it not only great for jogging, but an excellent choice for all of your every day activities as well.
