Maclaren Stroller Recalls: What You Need To Know

Stroller Reviews wants Maclaren umbrella strollers users to know that Maclaren has announced a voluntarily recall to repair umbrella strollers due to an increased number of fingertip lacerations and/or amputations experienced by consumers in the United States. There have been atleast 15 reports made declaring that children have placed their fingers near the hinge mechanism when the stroller was being  unfolded/opened or closed, that have resulted in injury. With that  Maclaren U.S.A  feels the urgency to recall about 1 million single and double umbrella strollers to avoid any future hazards.

The U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released the information on November 9th, 2009 stating that “Consumers should stop using recall products immediately unless otherwise instructed.”  This recall involves All Maclaren single and double strollers. The word Maclaren is printed on the stroller.

Maclaren wants you to know that safety of the consumer is their number 1 concern.   Contact them immediately to obtain a Free kit that will cover the hinge mechanism. The hinge cover will fit all Maclaren strollers.  To obtain these free kits I urge you to fill out the Kit Request Form NOW while you are thinking about it.  The last thing you would want is for your little one to experience an accident when you are using this stroller.

• Quest Sport
• Quest Mod
• Triumph
• Techno XLR
• Techno XT
• Twin Triumph
• Twin Techno
• Easy Traveller

Although there are specific models named in this recall they want you to request a repair kit on all Maclaren umbrella models. There is no need to return your stroller to the store.  The kit is sufficient enough to fix the recall. The kit will contain two easily installed stroller hinge covers, and the double will have three. Within a few months all future strollers sold will already contain hinge covers.
