The Combi Flare

The Combi Flare stroller is a hit with parents in urban areas looking for a lightweight stroller that’s easily maneuvered through crowds on city streets. The Combi Flare only weighs 11.6 pounds, but holds children up to 55 pounds. I would best classify the Flare as a top-of-the-line umbrella stroller. Stroller reviews report that it is ideal for traveling in urban areas, through airports and for quick trips to the store. It is not an all-terrain stroller, and as noted by other parents in Combi stroller reviews, it does not maneuver like one on rougher terrains.

I have an umbrella stroller I purchased a few years ago, and I will be the first to tell you that while it does its job, it is not the Combi Flare. I say this because the Flare has many options that the majority of umbrella stroller do not, such as:
• A storage basket
• A carrying strap
• A removable guardrail
• A removable cup holder
• Higher handles for taller parents

If you or your spouse are tall, you want an umbrella stroller with higher handles so you aren’t hunching your back to push it. And let’s face it—the other features are just nice to have. Even with errands and quick travel through airports and train stations, it is quite likely that you will have bags to carry or stop to purchase a beverage. It’s extremely helpful to have an umbrella stroller that gives you a place to keep all of those things while tending to your child.
The other thing I want to note for first-time mothers is that many umbrella strollers are not made to accommodate infants, but are better for toddlers. The great thing about the Combi Flare stroller is that it boasts a deep recline so that you are able to put your infant in it. However, even with this stroller, I would recommend also purchasing a head support that will keep your infant’s head in place during travel, as well as a stroller cover in case of inclement weather.

Overall the Combi Flare stroller receives an average rating of four out of five stars and while it is a bit more expensive than your average umbrella stroller, the added features make the investment well worth it. Happy strolling!
