4moms Origami Stroller – The One Finger Fold!

June 9, 2009

4moms Origami strollerBy Sarah Henderson
The Origami power folding stroller by 4Moms has caused quite a stir on the market today.
While a main portion of stroller reviews out there focus the ‘one hand’ fold because of its easy and convenient, what if there were a stroller with a ONE FINGER FOLD!

Making its debut appearance at Stroller.com in October, the 4moms Origami stroller is unlike anything on the market today. Equipped with a self-charging generator, this stroller has enough power to fold itself with the push of a button! The telescoping seat frame allows the Origami stroller to fold into a compact 3.5 cubic feet. Plus, by walking only 300ft you will recharge the batteries.

Handlebars that adjust up to 6inches, four cup holders, comfy seating, reflective fabric, and day-time running lights that automatically turn on while the Origami is in use are just a few of the many features.

Perhaps the most advanced feature (besides the Origami’s one finger fold!) is its onboard interface. The Origami stroller’s parent tray also has a digital display that shows if your battery is charged, how far you’ve walked, if the stroller is opened or closed, and the stroller also knows if there is a child in the seat! Why is this important? When the Origami senses a child the folding mechanism is disabled to prevent any accidents!

Overall, the 4moms Origami stroller looks like it is a model of the future. Be sure to check out this and other 4moms products at Stroller.com beginning in October!!!

The Origami Stroller really looks like a great stroller. I love the way it folds by itself and this would be a blessing when you have only 2 hands and more than one child. I would of been interested in seeing a child sitting in the stroller just so I could see how well it sits. I will be watching for my information on the Origami Stroller, I could use a stroller that folds this easy due to the fact that I have a Home Daycare. This would be so convenient. Also it would be easily stored.

You’re right, Maureen, this is almost like having an extra hand to fold your stroller! Stroller.com is getting our shipment in closer to October, so I’ll be posting more info and maybe a picture! If you end up getting one for your daycare, be sure to let me know how that works out!!

Will there be a basket available for underneath storage? Also it looked as if this stroller was supposed to be available 2/09 why did it get pushed to Oct?

        Hi Alicia!
Thank you for the comment. The Origami stroller release date was pushed back to give the company and manufacturer time to perform extra safety tests and make sure no detail was left undone :)
The Origami stroller does come with a bag for storage. It will hang under the seat and then (get this) you can remove the bag and it turns into a backpack! You can see it on the video here
        Hope that helps,
        ~ Sarah

There ALWAYS has to come out with something cooler and better after I make an expensive purchase. Wish I would have known about this 18 months ago!

    is there a weight limit?

      Thanks for the comment Courtney!
Because the product hasn’t debuted yet there are no official stats. Because it is a standard stroller however I would guess that the max wieght would be around 40lb. I’ll post when I get more info! :)

35 degree recline doesn’t seem much, can a baby sleep comfortably with such a low recline.
22lb is quite heavy. Imagen carrying a 27lb baby plus 22lb for the stroller up a flight of stairs. How wide is it? can it fit on a escalator. The sun cover doesn’t look like it can shade the sun very much.
love the folding design but it doesn’t seem to fit the basic requirement and the price tag for a stroller witch a baby can’t sleep comfortable in, is not worth that money.
