Bugaboo Bee Stroller Recall
By Sarah Henderson
On June 2, 2009, Bugaboo issued a voluntary recall for their newest stroller model the Bugaboo Bee. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC) about 22,500 models were recalled due to reports that stroller brakes were failing. Fortunately there have only been 121 instances of the Bugaboo’s breaks failing and no injuries.
The Bugaboo Bee models at risk have been sold from August 2007 to August 2009 in registered retailers and online. Models affected have the item code 580210 labeled on the seat, and 50100 labeled on the plastic support piece underneath the seat. They were also sold in blue, dark khaki, pink, yellow, and black.

I bought my Bugaboo Bee back in April 2009 and I was lucky that the brakes worked perfectly fine. I bought mine from eBay which I saved around $80 from the regular price. I feel so lucky that no faults were found in my Bugaboo Bee stroller and my baby is now 2 years old. She loves to ride in the Bugaboo Bee whenever we go out. I love it too cause it’s so easy push the Bugaboo Bee with one hand while the other hand is occupied.
